Our family loves jalapeño poppers, However, sometimes there’s just not enough time to make them. Jalapeño Popper Dip is a quick and easy alternative. This easy appetizer takes the delicious flavors of jalapeños poppers and makes them into a totally delicious scoopable snack.
While you can use canned jalapeños, I prefer using fresh jalapeños. If you go the fresh route, you’ll want to roast them first. Because the dip just gets warm and bubbly, if the jalapeños aren’t pre-cooked they’ll still be crunchy.
Ingredients
12 jalapeños (cleaned, roasted, and diced
1 lb sausage, browned
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup sour cream
1 cup mozzarella cheese
¾ cup parmesan cheese
How to
Start with the jalapeños. You’ll want to wash them, remove the stem, cut them in half, and remove the seeds. *Leave the seed if you like them spicy
Place the peppers face down on a lined cookie sheet and roast (stick them under the broiler) for 8-10 minutes. Remove from oven, cool, and then dice.
In a frying pan, brown the sausage and drain any excess grease. Add the block of cream cheese and stir as needed until it is melted and well incorporated.
Next, add the cheese and jalapeños and mix. *Reserve some cheese for the top
Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and bake on 350 for 20-30 minutes, or until bubbly.
Serve with Ritz crackers or tortilla chips
